True, congruent, long lasting results are attainable! Period, for anybody.
The key to that sustainability, to create the momentum, comes in the direction, the motives, the choices, the consistency and the context of balance, still of which line up with forwards thinking.
So, when life kicks you in the gonads, or the ovaries…external shake ups occur, tiredness kicks in and when challenges threaten your emotions, it can be become all that more difficult to still make time to workout, to eat healthy, to get enough sleep/recovery, drink enough water etc, as well as to balance everything else in life.
However, difficult yes, without a strategy that is. This is the point of yo-yo’ing and inconsistency,
‘I fell crap so i’ll put it off’, this level of durability will never yield worthwhile sustainable results.
The key? remaining durable through life’s inevitable challenges…because, it’s easy to do it when you feel good and it’s new years which gives a spurt of motivation…what about when that fades? What about when you feel crap? You’re on the deck looking up, When you feel like things are unfair and you want to hibernate for 6 months? Well, time still passes…
- Making exercise a mainstay regardless of how you feel and learning how to exercise contextually will keep you in a place of power.
- Consistently nourishing your body with meals that sustain your vitality, fueling your energy needs and of course in context to your unique set of cirmcutances will enable you to thrive.
- Not letting stress destroy your sleep pattern. Sleep is our charge, what happens when your phone starts the day on 5%…exactly. Night night.
- Still keeping a sense of productivity to keep moving forwards.
- Remembering little things like sipping water to stay hydrated…and as much as sipping water is a ‘little thing’, being hydrated is a main cornerstone to vitality, energy, cognition and awareness. A lack of that lot when you feel crap is bound to make things even worse.
Momentum of the above is the fundamental KEY to being durable for your self, no matter how low you are, no matter how stressed you may be, working on keeping your health in check as a default will always give you a strong foundation; of confidence, productivity, achievement, energy, stress relief, mindfulness, targeted self-care and a feeling of motivation that breeds more motivation. priceless.
Within that, comes a process of learning, failing, taking feedback from the failure, learning again, re-applying, understanding triggers, working with your perceptions, practising gratuity and so much more of that jazz.
How to be durable in 5 steps:
- Set your goals – long term, medium, short, daily.
- Use a source of external motivation that you can tap into constantly outside the internal goal.
- Learn how to exercise effectively, manage nutrition and understand the impact this truly has on your body.
- Practice perceptual positioning to your circumstances and the reality vs. expectations, this one is huge.
- Make your daily goals part of your calendar, like a meeting or appointment. Workout time, breakfast, lunch, dinner time, pre sleep routine…OI, keep it clean loools, your morning routine, targeted down time, family time, you get the picture. Keep it in the minds eye.
Make yourself durable. Because, when life throws a brick at you, it’s important to know how to keep moving forwards with the passing time in the moment of a challenge.
letting days, weeks, months and years pass by without self-care as a result of external conditioning is the fastest way to feel like you have no control and to feeling shite. You deserve more than that.
And on my parting note, STILL EXPECT TOUGH MOMENTS…actually, look forwards to them, because, that’s the goldmine for growth.
Make your world strong, healthy, positive and intentional.
