It’s so common for this notion to creep into a person’s health and fitness self care plan.

But why?

First and foremost, outcomes always come from a source of thought patterns, inconsistency comes from the subconscious adoption of the victim mentality that are dictated by those short term ‘feel good’ emotions…I’m tired, I haven’t got time, i’m not able to lose weight’, nothing works for me, I’ll start again when I’m motivated, now isn’t the right time… which essentially can look like continuing to eat junk, not exercising and stooping in those limiting beliefs, A.K.A, the unhelpful ‘comfort zone’. poop.

Firstly, if you have low self belief, that, is nothing more than a thought of fear, TRUST ME, you can develop yourself, you have all of the potential and tools in the world to do so. YES! yes you do.

As for the notion of inconsistency in positive actions, the first port of call is to create that direction through goal setting and attachment to the notion of that projected reality, that’s what creates excitement. So before you workout, eat healthy and all of that jazz, creating order in your minds-eye is most crucial, as well as elements such as:

  • Organisation and scheduling (when, where, how, what, why), this creates accountability, structure and direction for adherence.
  • Planning with a realistic balance for all areas of life (exercise, nutrition, rest/sleep/recovery, work, family, friends, partners, hobbies etc)
  • Motivating yourself daily (goals, meditations, music, walks, podcasts, jumping on a trampoline)
  • Applying yourself within context. Psychological progression is the most important of all… as a bi-product, momentum of the physical desires such as weight loss, fat loss, energy, speed, strength etc will just happen.

The actions and outcomes of productivity are important, crucial for that matter… howwwwweeeeeeever, inaction and procrastination is STILL an action, an action of a choice to not step up for you.

So, the key? creating a mental environment that enables you to consistently apply yourself to a sustainable health care plan in conjunction with other areas of your life, that don’t create unrealistic trade offs.

It’s to be had.
