Mental blockers from what?

Your health, fitness and well-being, my blog reading chum.

I mean, the WHOLE self-care plan, right across the board, the care of your physiology, fitness levels, weight management, body composition, emotional fitness/stability, self-esteem and self-control.

Yes, we are more about fat loss and weight loss here, which comes as a bi-product to a successful approach.

In a nutshell, the reason people don’t follow through on the actions that they know they should is not because of anything other than the priority it’s given.

When it comes to health, fitness, and wellbeing, its priority by many is very low down on the pecking order.

Why do things/actions that improve our happiness, confidence, health, and fitness get suppressed, self-sabotaged and put below things that promote weight gain, unhealthy body composition resulting in strain onto our body’s physiology, lethargy, tiredness and low confidence? Essentially a cumulative outcome of a position desired to be transformed from…. It’s actually a big ol’ paradox. Enter the social media influencers (select, not all obviously) and ‘diet’ companies that project/create even more of a psychological block towards practicing a sustainable, realistic health plan on top of some foundational factors (further along in blog).

So why is your health and fitness not a priority? Or, if you are conscious of this, how can it be made even more effective? Why is exercise being put behind excessive sitting and watching TV? Why are processed foods being chosen in majority over foods that support health? Why is the sleep pattern irregular in the know that this DRAINS you?

I know, lots of why’s, self-reflection and ownership to be made when it comes to pattern change. It can be uncomfortable as hell as well, especially as it’s the concept of self-critique, but when taken on the chin, THAT is the breakthrough that evokes growth.

I mentioned ‘diet’ companies and social media influences (select ones) that further add to the spiral of poor self-care through unrealistic projections and flawed frameworks with limited understanding of the big picture of health; they…on top of the following aspects are the perfect recipes for…COUCH POTATO living and resignation to the notion of sustainable transformation and development.

The main mental blockers that are holding you back:

  1. Belief in ability to consistently eat healthy and workout.
  2. The belief that body transformation can not happen.
  3. Experience of flawed plans (fads, exercise approach etc).
  4. Only a few factors were identified for the transformation, health and fitness go WAY BEYOND just nutrition and exercise.
  5. The overwhelm of the task (too much ‘work to do, ‘too far to run’, ‘too much activity).
  6. Absence of long term goals, medium term goals and short term goals.
  7. The expectation of now, now, now with physical change Psyche (read about the Chinese Bamboo Tree).
  8. ‘Not enough time’.
  9. Looking at exercising as a ‘luxury’ if time is spare…
  10. An unsupportive environment, this doesn’t define you, but it helps to have an environment that aligns.

So, with all of that going on, of course it’s going to create an outcome that promotes the search for easy short-term feel goods.

The only thing is, those short-term feel goods work against the actual long-term feel good and promote deteriorating health and poor self-relationship with the concept of self-care…to the point of where materialistic things and pointless things actually become more important than personal health, fitness & wellbeing.

We are all running systems; it just depends on the success of your performance and your systems. Our health success comes down to the system sustainability and compatibility to our lifestyle, goal setting, beliefs in change, and purpose behind the desires.

2 things, the first one, why do you want to lose weight? Burn body fat? Improve your shape or build muscle? Who is it for?

The second one, human beings are designed to change; we are designed with the ability to enhance and adapt, trust me when I say this, YOU have all of the ABILITY in the world to change.

The challenge in modern-day living is navigating that around all of this easy convenience we have, booby trap diets and the stories we tell our selves that hold us down.

On a long enough timeline with the appropriate learnings, consistency of application and a fast recoil to bounce back after falls, you will win with your self-care plan. It just takes some time.

So, the biggest thing first of all, is to give yourself that foundation to actually do the damn thing and remove these mental blockers of lack.

  • You are able to become more active and build momentum to achieve fitness levels beyond what your thoughts are allowing you think that you can right now.
  • You are able to learn how to genuinely nourish yourself properly.
  • You are in control as to what you eat.
  • You are in control when you go to bed and wake up.
  • You are able to set goals and create excitement for yourself.
  • You are able to fit this into your day, if you can fit even an hour of TV into your day, you can fit in some self-care time.
  • You are able to be constantly motivated and disciplined.
  • You are able to train around that injury and ultimately overcome it.
  • No you are not big boned, you have the ability to lose weight. You are designed to do that.
  • Yes you can add some muscle to your frame…men & WOMEN.

These things aren’t just handed out to people out of luck.

They are all outcomes that can be created by you for you.

The best version of you practices health, fitness & well-being management (mentally and physically), if you don’t, you’re playing smaller than what you are capable of.

Break the blockers and get yourself some.

If you are not sure on how to get some, hit me up, I’ll have your back.

Takeaway:

What are your mental blockers?

What is the thought that’s generating an excuse for you not to step up?

Why is the priority of your health being placed behind a TV program?

Why are taste buds allowed to be served more than the health of your organs?

Why is scrolling on social media more important than feeling energized after a decent night’s sleep?

There’s potential and growth all around you.

Time to step up!
