Consistency is the secret weapon, the main issue for many is, the notion of consistently being inconsistent.
This is down to many factors, such as:
-
- Goals or lack of.
- The way those goals may feel overwhelming.
- Incorrect system selection or the focus is on one small area.
- Balance with everything else can be out of sync.
- What the rest of the schedule looks like.
- The absent holistic knowledge that provides sustainability results within the psyche of our realities.
- The last thing that dictates the above and the overall direction? Thoughts from beliefs, experiences, current knowledge and the inflexibility in adaptation.
All of that lot…A.K.A…mindset, it’s mission control.
So, how can we ensure consistency? Here we go…
- Establish deep and meaningful whys, get uncomfortable with this, many people may laugh because it will highlight a threat for themselves, that’s ok, you have your reasons and desires, make them compelling and simply do not give a s**t what other think (This is a good vlog for a reference point for validation from within).
- That goal should be so big that it feels overwhelming without breaking it down…How do you eat an elephant?….One mouthful at a time.
- Identity the various systems that create the overall package that contribute to the goal…yes everything, absolutely everything in your life, because that’s where we get out balance from, if things are out of balance, instability occurs.
- Specifically plan what you are going to do, as well as making time for you to recover and recuperate, yes, plan that as well.
- Learn what is actually beneficial for the long haul, what your body truly needs, how to really challenge it through exercise, how to manage stress and anxiety.
- Pledge to develop your way of thinking, explore ways to overcome limiting thoughts that lead to sabotage, take ownership for your daily performances and know when you are half arse’ing as well as equally congratulating yourself for the positive things…it’s important not to mentally manipulate yourself and get these the wrong way around with the whole ‘reward’ dynamic that isn’t actually a reward.
- Expect not to be perfect, you are a project, your own project, projects take time, energy and learning for further growth, that means failure, accept it as part of the process. That’s how you develop, the very process of improving your fitness is built on such a foundation, you are unable to run further or lift more, stretch as much until you can’t do that task anymore (In context) until the next time, and the next time. Fitness grows, muscles develop, flexibility can improve….built on contextual fatigue.
Consistency is a balancing act of all of the things in our lives with compelling reasons that override our emotional reactive states to unfavourable circumstances that in the long run give us a more holistic happy state.
Papering the cracks for our biggest asset (our health) we own is only going to create imbalance and crappy outcomes.
Think long term, think growth, self-development and think obtainment of holistic knowledge based approaches with appropriate action….
That will answer all of the ‘diet’ questions, how to exercise, how to manage stress, how to burn fat, how to build muscle, be more mobile, how to manage anxiety, have more balance, get better sleep, perform better at work, to build and maintain more understanding relationships.
That’s consistency baby!
Have a great day!
