The only thing that will EVER hold you back is you, and the psychological patterns of limiting loops that will disable effective planning and action.

There is a lot of non-sense flying around the place that can reek havoc with a persons state of mind when it comes to the notion of self-care…that plus a bit of un-attended ownership denial, can make for one big unhealthy, lethargic lifestyle.

Realistically, maybe this is just my perception, but I don’t think anybody really wants that, especially if you are wanting to strive, develop and to make the most out of this rare opportunity on planet earth that we have.

Here are some common myths that ARE NOT TRUE and I hope this helps you feel that little bit less confused, fearful or whatever emotion/feeling it is that you have that is preventing you from stepping up for yourself….and consequently, for the people around you, a healthier happier you projects and influences further than you would think.

Being ‘big boned; – Not a thing, we all have different genetics that will have varying rates of speeds as to how fast we develop…irrelevant, it is simply down to us as individuals to control our environment and dynamics to make our development happen, we can all exercise, eat healthy, learn, manage habits for decent rest, hydration and so on. There’s no such thing as an overweight skeleton… being ‘big boned’ in other words is basically saying ‘I can’t be arsed and I shall not acknowledge that’ (in some dynamics).

Fitness isn’t about how strong or ‘fit’ you think you have to be – It’s a mindset, it’s personal growth and development, it’s how you manage your self-care plan through positive action steps without beating yourself up as well using that platform to increase your personal happiness and confidence.

You DO NOT have to be ‘fit’ to get a trainer – Full stop. If you ever feel pressured, judged or stressed by a trainer/coach. Get a new one, there are, as there is in all industries…self-serving ego’s that are not as helpful as communicated. Don’t let a bad experience if you’ve had one stop you from searching for that support you deserve.

Running isn’t the main measure for fitness – Fitness methods span a across a variety of fun activities that will keep you enthused. If you enjoy running, awesome, keep smashing it, bare in mind that for total health, some strength training is also crucial for posture, bone density and believe it or not, a more metabolically active digestive system. Yep, FFFAAATTTTT BUUUUURRRRNNNIIIIING BAAABBBEEEHHHH!

We NEED Fat – Going ‘low fat’ will only starve your body of it’s vitality, in context of course, I’m talking from a whole food perspective here, the only fats we do not need, is the chemically enhanced man made shelf preserving processed trans-fats.

Stop waiting for environmental change to elicit your change -The change is from within, your inner headspace is your change. External motivations in the hope for injected enthusiasm is only going to encourage procrastination, excuses and the victim mentality of ‘being busy’ all of the time…honestly, we can all fit something into our week for something as important as our health benefits…How much time of the week goes into meaningless BS that doesn’t actually matter?

You don’t always have to ‘go hard or go home’ – Recreational self care doesn’t require training on the edge, of course context is key and important, your standard for context will increase with time…and one day, your warm up would’ve been your main event, but that requires consistency for that to EVER happen. Focusing on being tired, drained and overwhelmed at the thought of exercise will have you doing a U-turn faster than Vin Diesel in a fast and Furious movie. Hone in on context, and you WILL SURPRISE yourself, before you know it, that standard practice becomes a subconscious output.

It all starts with you.
