It’s as simple as this.
If it was easy, everybody would do it…
Well, it’s not easy, but it is simple.
And the more you practice the simplicity, the easier it becomes.
There’s a little paradox for you.
The things that create misalignment are these:
- Knowledge or lack of.
- Mindset towards the systems.
Throw in the human trait for WANTING EVERYTHING NOW!
We’ve all done it.
Seriously though, with health, fitness & wellbeing, the grand vision of your desires, it definitely doesn’t happen like that.
In the moment of commitment they do, that’s the threshold to start the process that builds the momentum to deliver the outcomes that you want.
Here’s the pivotal point.
That’s where patience and engagement in consistent action are required accompanied by the hunger to continue your development as well as being honest enough to be real with yourself and your personal performance.
That means…
NO EXCUSES!
And not expecting to get everything ‘perfect’ the first time, your first time is perfection because that’s doing, if you’re not doing you’re not learning, if you’re not learning, you’re not getting feedback, if you’re not getting feedback, you’re not stepping up.
It’s all about committing, to doing, to getting feedback, to tweaking, to keeping consistent…even when you don’t feel like it.
Here’s a visual…
You’re stood at the bottom of a staircase, you want to get to the top.
How do you do it?
Can you jump from the bottom to the top? No (that’s the quick fix world), if you do, you’ll smash your teeth in, you’ll clear a few steps (weight loss more often than not from gluconeogenesis, muscle wastage, but likely roll to the bottom again).
How can you move closer to the top without hurting yourself but still make progress? Exactly, one step at a time, at the moment, you may not clear as many steps as you would if you leaped. However, the ones that you have cleared are mastered, and each one you step up is a prerequisite to the next level.
Everything requires steps, relationships, professional development, pregnancy, property development, health, fitness, and well-being is NO DIFFERENT.
Just because we want it desire it, need it, must have it, that doesn’t mean that we’ll get it without the correct steps of progress.
One step at a time.
One of those psychological steps (health & FItness) is to initially drop the be-all or end of all of what the scales say (track for sure).
Weight loss, fat loss, etc will come sustainably and healthily with the prerequisite graduations of the skills, learnings, and practices required to force the body to adapt in a sustainable way.
- Balanced hormones
- Effective body clock
- Authentic hunger patterns
- Maintenance of muscle
- The building of muscle
- Fat loss
- A stronger heart.
- More efficient energy transfer process’
- A more effective metabolism for the ever-changing regeneration of the body’s cells.
That takes time, it takes planning, practice, patience, tweaking, goal setting, motivation, the breaking of limiting mental boundaries, and essentially a new way of thinking for growth-orientated development mindset paradigms instead of fixed mindset paradigms (negative, critical, pessimistic, defeatist, excuses, denial, egotistical, only interested in their own opinion).
For us all, there’s always another level.
The moment we stop and rest on the laurel, boom…take a step down.
Don’t rest on the laurel, keep making those steps.
What’s your next level?
What does it look like?
What patterns in your life are holding you back right now?
How can you be a better version of yourself?
