Truth be told, both matter.
Fundamentally though, the order matters within the context to what is known.
It’s easy to anchor to the feeling to the weight loss, fat loss etc and in that moment, to follow a process that is fundamentally flawed in an attempt to capture those feelings of confidence as a result of the physical change etc. Then the process of motivated, demotivated, weigh loss, weight gain, dissatisfaction in the long run and…..’Sod that, it doesn’t work’…correct, fundamentally flawed process’ do not work.
Am I saying no to having the contextual physical change for the individual into their goal? Hell no! Hell yeah have it in, that’s a part of it.
But when all of the emphasis is being placed onto the physical outcome alone without the appropriate consistent habits and mindset that supports sustainable change, the inevitable drop off is a dead cert. because, the lack of durability promotes a quitting culture at the first hurdle…haven’t lost weight…FAIL, even though in the background, you may be learning, building and making great choices, all massive progressive measures that lead to sustainable long term change. Consider this, you will have plateaus in life, and…you will have to overcome them.
You get where i’m going here.
When you set goals such as exercise frequency, the balance of your meals, the development of your thoughts towards your self-esteem and self-kindness, to hydrate yourself…as well as having reset power statements, to use as a buffer for positive reinforcement for moments of feeling low, you will elevate to a new vibration. Then guess what, as a bi-product of putting in championship performances, you win the championship because of the focus on the actions and support that build your momentum, knowledge and resolve.
When two people go for a walk, one adjusts to the other’s pace. Don’t allow the unrealistic flawed expectations of the broken perceptions of health and fitness trip you up. Take your own pace, with ownership to the areas you can improve, pledge to that development with the notion of consistency…and I GUARENTEE you, the physical stuff will come.
Make those performance goals (Learning, doing) your daily practice along side some self development goals to hit each week, then with constructive flexibility, you can start to have those physical goals as part of that overall vision, so that they all intertwine with stepping stones that align with the compelling vision, ultimately leading to productivity that has traction, actions for appropriate feedback and those awesome feelings of confidence as the redeeming value.
