It’s obvious that exercise and the ‘dieting’ (rephrase, improving your diet) components are two main cornerstones to improving people’s fitness, weight management, fat loss, muscle gain etc.

That’s great, all of that is great, how long do those motives last for though?

What happens when the plan becomes ‘boring’,  unsustainable or fundamentally weak?

Are the reasons for progress and coherence strong enough to weather the storms of external threats to the balance of the plan?

More often than not, no…because we are emotional creatures, which can work against us, when not managed accordingly to the desire…especially when there are ‘many’ plans available to people that barely scratch the surface for true self-care.

However, these emotions can also be our biggest projection for success, when highlighted and coupled with a realistic sustainable plan.

In other words, what are the reasons for you to continue to exercise regardless, to make healthy food choices regardless, to manage your mental attitude to challenging situations regardless…compared to the reasons for procrastination, hiding behind justifications in self persuasive patterns in order to not feel so bad for not taking ownership because there’s a ‘reason’? That BS becomes a habit, the worst kind, excuses suck.

I promise you, when you hit the bedrock, the notion of consistency becomes a whole lot more simple.

Start with this first, and then everything else can morph into the correct vehicle for you with longevity, it might not be instantaneous, but the learning of that is as crucial as anything else. Do the learning and don’t be afraid to ask the relevant people for help.

The physical stuff is great, of course it is, however the key is how you access that with a mindset that doesn’t beat on you with un-necessary pressure (from you, from others).

Anchor to that bedrock, build that solid foundation, action the plan with stepping stones and the physical stuff will happen as a bi-product…

Here’s a a model to help you dig…

Sand – Use these and dig deep as to why, then use those whys…Why?

Top Soil – Keep digging…Why?

Sub Soil – Keep digging…Why?

Parent Rock – Keep digging…Why?

Bedrock – Start with this and use this as your anchor, these are your strong compelling reasons, nothing will de-root the those why’s…That’s why!
