A natural inclination of the human being is to be defensive.
Only, the wrong place at the wrong time, it can harm us.
(By all means, throw those roundhouse drop kicks if you are getting mugged, but when it comes to your health, fitness, and wellbeing, that defense can often leave you the one being roundhouse dropkicked)
Perpetual thoughts of that nature can create paradigms of limitation.
Those paradigms become deeply embedded (equally for success or limitation).
When those thoughts create a reality of limitation and block the path for the potential to actuality, we lose.
Why?
Because we miss out on the thing that we want but make a story of how we can't have it...
That story justifies our lack, which is an attempt to feel better about falling short.
How can anybody feel better with neglect to their health?
Translated into health, fitness, and wellbeing.
Lethargy, body fat cumulation, higher risk of disease, frequently ill, low confidence, low self-esteem, the list does go on, to be honest.
The things that create those outcomes have nothing to do with our ability, potential, or motivation.
It has everything to do with our mindset, the chosen strategy, and the environment we create for ourselves.
Fixed mindset or growth mindset?
The victim mentality or problem solver?
Submissive to barriers or a barrier breaker?
The balance of the above show-offs are literally life-changing.
The paradigm in which we are embodying directly comes down to us as individuals.
There's only one winner in achieving worthwhile goals for success.
None of that comes in excuses, reasons, other people's influence like your boss's etc.
It's all a reflection of us as individuals, our attitude to learning the systematic principles, to learn from setbacks, to build strong daily habits with consistency, and to associate the 'prizes' so to speak with the process.
The process is what makes us, not the prize.
The weight loss, the fat loss, the shape change, the PB'S, etc, they are not the definition of us, what it takes to get us there is.
There's a big clue for no. 1.
Talking of which, let's roll them out, here are the 5 things/thougths that hold many people back from achieving their goals:
- I can't lose weight because I'm big-boned.
- I haven't got time.
- I'm not sporty.
- I'm scared of what others might think or say.
- Nothing works for me.
They all represent victim-fixed thinking.
Here are the turnarounds.
- Yes, you can, your human physiology is literally designed to adapt, with that comes shape change. That done well, takes care of the weight on the scales.
- How much tv do you watch per week? Take 90 minutes in total away from that and you have 3 X 30-minute exercise sessions to do, if you need some help with that here's some guidance.
- You don't have to be sporty to take care of your health.
- Worrying about what others think will keep you suppressed and compromised of what you want, what's the benefit? Developing a thick skin to others' judgments and opinions is part of a successful health, fitness, and wellbeing regime.
- Everything you have 'tried' doesn't work, except doing what really sustainably works.
As a coach who helps people overcome limitations, trust me, that is ALL that is stopping you from achieving your goals.
Just persnoal limitations.
We can all apply our own context to the universal pool of principles that serve the growth of our human psychology and physiology.
You have all of the ability and potential in the world to have the energy, drive, motivation, shape change, fitness, productivity, the dream job, better relationships, and most importantly, your self-esteem, confidence, and internal validation from you, for you, by the discipline you have kept in order to build your new healthy life.
That's where life feels and looks different.
I went from feeling as thick as s**t, 'down on my luck', not thinking I was 'business orientated' enough, and feeling that success was preserved for the lucky few (lols)... to learning what has to be learned to help myself and others, to making my own 'luck', to making myself become more holistically business orientated (and, I have sooooo much more to learn still).
That's not to impress, it's to impose, that better version of me means I can help others, which means they have the same level of growth...You can also.
And it does, Fit Peeps is a community of awesome people who strive to be their best version every day through the learning and application of the universal principles of success.
It all starts from within and not giving priority to the disease of stinking thinking.
Take the energy from this, and channel it into one new habit that you know you can sustain, that's the action that will give you the traction you want.
(Reading/watching it, getting motivated and inspired, then to not take action? Where's the benefit?)
Here's some advice, don't channel it into a commercial diet, it'll harm you, waste your time, energy, and money.
Here are two options that will help you with you with that:
